Somalia inaugurats $800m new Airport
Somalia’s president Hassan Mohamud on Sunday announced building the “New Mogadishu International Airport”, about 37km north of Mogadishu.
The new airport will be built through public-private partnership and could cost up to $800 million.
Estimated to be completed in five years. Once completed the airport is expected to serve as many as 4 million travellers per year.
Currently, Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport serves about half a million travellers per year.
