Nigeria rejected accepting US deportees.
Nigeria has rejected US attempts to persuade African countries to accept Venezuelan deportees, some of them prisoners, stating it would be unrealistic and unfair.
Nigeria’s foreign minister, Yusuf Tuggar, stated that Nigeria faces enough challenges and would not be used as a “dumping ground” for people deported from the US.
He believes it is unfair to insist that Nigeria accept 300 Venezuelan deportees, he said in a statement.
President Trump recently hosted five West African presidents at the White House and urged them to accept migrants from other countries who are being deported by the US.
