Somali-Turkey to boost ties on Ports and Maritime

Somalia and Türkiye are working towards boosting cooperation in the areas of ports and maritime transportation as ties between the two countries continue to grow rapidly.

This came to light following talks between Somalia’s Minister of Ports and Marine Transport Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdülkadir Uraloğlu at the ongoing 2025 Global Transport Connectivity Forum, which started on Friday in Istanbul.

”We discussed strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye in the fields of ports and maritime transport. I sincerely thank Minister Uraloğlu for his warm hospitality and productive exchange,” the Somali minister said on social media platform X.
