WHO: Mpox remains active
The mpox outbreak remains a public health emergency, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issued updated temporary recommendations, reaffirming the emergency status first declared in August last year.
when a new strain of the virus began spreading from the heavily affected Democratic Republic of Congo to neighboring countries.
WHO calls Countries and Health Organisations to be vigilant and on high alert to prevent the Mpox outbreak.
