Turkey to support Somalia’s fight against terrorists

Turkey’s President Erdoğan promised that his Government will increase its support to Somalia’s security and fight against terrorists.

The two presidents took phone call from Erdoğan to appreciate Somalia’s recent gains against Al shabab.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia.

The call addressed the Türkiye-Somalia bilateral relations as well as regional and global matters.

Stating that Türkiye supports Somalia’s development vision through democracy, and that its support for Somalia’s fight against terror will increasingly continue, President Erdoğan noted that the promising cooperation between Türkiye and Somalia in the areas of energy and fishing will also continue.

President Erdoğan extended his greetings to President Mohamud of Somalia on the upcoming Eid al-Adha.
